Mentoring Youth in Schools

"Of all the joys of childhood the nicest ever known is to have a Big Brother or Big Sister to call your very own"

Volunteers provide Littles with one-on-one time and attention in their schools, typically once a week during the academic year. Teachers identify children who can benefit most from interaction with a caring role model. As their friendships evolve, volunteers and children discover ways to make school and learning fun. Volunteers can mentor children during the school day, or in the majority of cases, during after-school programs.
The Lewis & Thurston Counties School-based Programs are looking for High School aged and adult volunteers. Currently, BBBS has programs in the following schools:
North Thurston School District:
Lakes Elementary, Seven Oaks Elementary
Lacey Elementary, Lydia Hawk Elementary, and Pleasant Glade Elementary.

Rochester School District: Grand Mound Elementary and Rochester Primary School.
Lewis County Schools: Centralia, Winlock, Onalaska, Toledo, Adna, Chehalis, Pe Ell and Boistfort School Districts.
